Pigs At The Trough

The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has succumbed to government demands to slash investment banker bonuses to £175m and scrap any performance-related payouts.
 
RBS will now only pay bonuses to investment banking staff where it has contractual obligations – this will reduce the total bonus pool from an estimated £1bn to £175m.
